The Elfin Dog

Why do I call Maudie the Elfin dog? I think she looks like a little elf or maybe a pixie...you decide. Regardless, she is a cutie and oh so sweet. She came to me through the San Angelo Humane Society where she was found in one of the shelter's side cages. I don't know her story but I can say that it must not be a very happy one. She is incredibly shy but, with Mike out in the yard playing with her and our other kids and me taking her on little excursions into town, she is slowly but surely coming around.

Breed: Collie/Aussie/Elf/Pixie
Other: Maudie is crate trained and house trained. We have not started running yet because she is just too shy around people. We are currently working on walking, in a straight line, on the leash. She loves other dogs and ignores the cats so would do great in a multiple pet home. Kids, though, are another breed all together. I am afraid that she is too shy to deal with ear pulling or being chased by a toddler. A family with children over the age of 10 should be fine.
