Puppy Tales: The Adventures of Adam the Australian Shepherd

"Puppy Tales" is the story of Adam, an abused puppy that was abandoned at the Town Lake Animal Center and rescued by Austin Aussie Rescue. After being adopted, Adam winds up on a Texas Hill Country ranch near Johnson City, where he shares a series of fun-loving,spirited adventures with "Momma" and "Poppa," TinkerBell the cat, and his horse friends Ace, Durango and Cody. The author uses this entertaining cast of characters to weave a story around the timeless values of love, discipline and friendship. Kelly Carper Polden is an award-winning professional communicator with more than 20 years of experience writing, editing andcreatingmarketing communications materials for a variety ofnational andinternational companies. After moving to the HillCountry in 2006, she started a freelance writing and communications consulting business. Kelly was inspired to put her first children's story
to words while running the trails in nearby Pedernales Falls StatePark with Adam,her rescued pup. Complemented with sketches by JohnsonCity-based illustrator Cheryl Eckenrode, "Puppy Tales" is thefirst of what issure to be many stories of Adam's adventures with hisfriends on theranch.Forgotten Friends (www.mixbreedrescue.com) and Austin Aussie Rescue(austinaussierescue.org) are Austin-based rescueorganizations supported solely by volunteers and donations from the community.
