Rosemary Update from her Triple Crown Trainer

"Here are her updates from her trainer! She is doing awesome!"-Triple Crown Coordinator.

Week 1 - This week I met the sweetest German Short-haired Pointer, Rosemary. She loves going on walks - taking in all the scents while her nose is glued to the ground! We chased some birds in the field on the first day I met her. Since then we have worked on name recognition (I call her Rosie to keep it short and simple) and done some basic clicker training. She isn't bothered at all by the loud sound, especially since it comes with food! So far Rosemary doesn't have any interest in playing with toys, but instead will walk up to me and wait until I pet her. Once the petting starts, she doesn't want it to stop! I can't wait to see how she responds to more of the training over the next few weeks.

Week 2 - This week Rosemary has made so much progress! She now knows her nickname (Rosie), and walks on a loose leash especially if she knows she will be rewarded with treats! She also learned to sit on command this week, which she does eagerly. Another thing we have worked on is place, where she stays on a dog bed until she gets the free command. Rosie loves the bed and makes sure that she can keep an eye on me at all times. She is such a sweet dog and a quick learner!

Thanks to Triple Crown for taking our Rosemary into their program. I'm looking forward to future "Rosie" updates!

Run For The Rovers Training
Posted: January 24, 2009
Join Rogue and Blue Dog Rescue for this free training opportunity! Bring your dog and learn how to run and train better with man's best friend every Saturday morning from 10-11 AM, January 24-March 22. Then, participate in Run For The Rovers on March 22 with your dog.
Rogue coaches will cover how to build up mileage with your dog. Blue Dog Rescue trainers will cover how to run with your dog efficiently and safely. We'll also have tips from veterinarians about dog health!
It doesn't cost a thing, but you're welcome to donate $80 to Blue Dog Rescue at the end of training, if you're happy with what you learned. We hope you'll join us, learn some new tricks, and support Austin dogs!
Note: this is not an obedience school.
