Run Like The Wind (with your pawtner)
The Schrodi Memorial Training Fund and the Lee Mannix Center for Canine Behavior are hosting the second annual 5K Run, 5K Walk/Run and long distance runs of 3, 6, 12 and 24 hours. Well behaved dogs welcome at ALL EVENTS.
The fund is overseen by the Animal Trustees of Austin and teams with the Lee Mannix Center for Canine Behavior to train owners how to handle and manage their dog(s) and their behaviors in a reward-based style. The Schrodi Fund helps owners who can't afford top dollar training, be able to train and keep their dogs.
This chip-timed course is a mulchy, soft, flat 1K loop trail totally canopied by trees. It is directed by the world-famous cook Sam Voltaggio. Registration is via active.com or mail-in race application.
Long Distance runs begin after the dogs have cleared the course at 11am. Fully stocked aid station with room to rest. Parking available in site, carpooling is encourged. For more information, contact Sam at cscsammy@yahoo.com.
Silent Blind auction will run until noon. You make a blind bid on the item and place it in the box. The highest bid at the end of the day is contacted to come claim their prize so you need not be present when the bidding closes. Lots of great items are up for Auction (dog items, electonics, artwork). Donations still being accepted for items until Dec 3rd. Contact Becky for more info on the Auction bgarciatx@gmail.com.
