Karma Brings Home Hardware

Mike and I are so proud of our pup Karma. This past Sun, May 28, 2006, Karma accepted his first race award. The award was for coming in as 5th place dog, at the Blue Dog Rescue Run for the Rovers http://www.bluedogrescue.com/.Amongst a field of 150 dogs, Karma and Mike ran a blazing 24:30 which is an avg 7 min 53 second miles!His sister, Eden, who herself won 2nd place in the San Angelo Humane Society Rover run two years earlier, trotted in with her friend Iggy and his two legged playmate, Rachel, in about 30th place.

At the award presentations, Karma was given a HUGE container of treats, toys and even a doggie bed! (much better than most of the awards I have ever received at a race)It was so much fun to participate in an event so focused on our fur friends. The Rover Run was much more laid back than your normal 5k race. There was much tail-waggin and hello-booty-sniffs. I saw not one fight, human or canine, take place. We all had a great time and hope to do it again, next year. (Mike is already coming up with he and Karma's race strategy for improving upon their 5th place finish)
P.S. Karma would like to let it be known that he started out at the very back of the pack, and was forced to walk the first 50 yards as the bottleneck infront of him dissipated.
